How to Raise Positive Kids in a Negative World

How to disable SearchWiki from your iGoogle account

Recently Google updated their search result to include SearchWiki.

You can customize your search listings by dragging listings up or down no a page (similar to what you can do on your iGoogle page) as well as add and delete search results. Then you can see those results next time you do that search. Those results are only seen by you however you can also comment on sites and those comments can be seen by anyone else that is logged in.

The idea is cool however I like to see changes in search positioning. I also like to see  new sites that may come onto the scene. I also send screenshots to clients and need to make sure those screenshots are reflective of the true search results rather than my custom results. I could sign out of my iGoogle account but I use the custom home page to keep track of tasks and other items.

There is no way to disable this (right now) however if you change your home page from  http://www.google.com/ig to http://www.google.com/ig?hl=en&hl=all then all searches you do will show results without the Google SearchWiki results.

Countdown Till #2

We will be having our second child next year. It seems like a long way off now but as you can see below time keeps on ticking (ticking ticking into the future)

Here is Matt’s REAL tattoo! :-P

New Google Site Search

Google is showing a search box on certain search results. The searches where all done on on branded terms. For example on Borders the search was simply “borders.”

Flash Movie of Ann and Rachel

Fall in Dunwoody

Fall is in the air here in Dunwoody Georgia. Yesterday we started our first of many afternoons raking up leaves. Ann had a blast trudging through them once they were piled neatly in a row. We have been reading Winny The Poo to her at night and in one of the stories they are raking leaves. She is pretending to be Tigger by bouncing into the leaves and then throwing them up in the air. It is really fun to watch her play and interact with things now. She has such a great imagination. She is a good helper too. She has a yellow plastic rake which she was using to gather up leaves. Unfortunately she found it was easier to rake the leaves out of the pile I had just made rather than making a pile of her own! But all in all it was a fun day. The leaves are starting to get beautiful around here. Lots of reds, yellows, and orange.

Can’t Change my buddy icon in Trillian

I had a picture as a buddy icon and wanted to change it to reflect the change in the season but whenever I went to change it, it would go back to the old picture. I was able to turn it off but whenever I chose a new picture it would again go back to the old one. Here is what I did to fix that.
Navigate to C:\program files\trillian\default and look for a file called buddyicon. This won’t be the actual buddy icon but rather a file called buddyicon. Right click on the file and click on properties. Un-check the read only box and click ok. You will now be able to change your buddy icon.
